If I have a TV somewhere thats going to freeze, does it matter what kind? is LED better?

We have a cabin and want to upgrade our tube tv to a flat screen. One of my friends said we have to get a LED tv because a plasma will burst, and a non-LED the lighting tubes will break. Is this true? or will any flat screen TV be fine?

We obviously aren't going to be USING it when its frozen, we just don't heat the place during winter since we are only there during summer.

thanks!

We aren't going to pack it up and transport it with us, so that option isnt an option...

Would a rear projection be better? We've had old school LED Fluorescent  up there for years without a problem. Its a 14 hour drive and all we have is a car. Thats going to be a huge hassle to also figure out how to transport up and back twice a year, plus we'd have to hire someone to put it up for us because my parents (who own the cabin) can't lift it (they are in their 80s), and I only go up there once a year, so it will end up costing more to move it than just buying a new one every 2 years...

But if the flatscreens don't work then we might just buy a rear projection or a better led tube lighting . Which is best for freezing?

Don't leave an expensive piece of electronic equipment where it is going to get below freezing.

Take the TV with you when you pack up at the end of summer and then it doesn't matter which type you get.

It is not the best idea to have electronics sit in the cold for long periods of time. I believe there is a warning label on most. As for the TV I would purchase a LED it is currently the latest and greatest. It takes the LCD screen and uses LED lighting.
